It’s National Walking Month I was never one for walking, I mean, I walk but I didn’t like walking. I found it boring and something that maybe only other people do for fun. Then I realised that walking wasn’t just about trekking over the hills and the valleys, lovely as they are, but about enjoying all our environments in a gentle way too, taking in a place up close and personal and at your own pace.
Its also May Bank Holiday!
Now with the warming weather, I find myself thankful for any opportunity that helps me to get up and out and enjoy the great outdoors in a new way.
I’m proud to be part of the team that encourages access to the great outdoors and in an accessible way. I’ve always loved stories wherever I can find them and so being able to combine a visiting experience with added stories is both fun and exciting.
At GeoStories we imagine stories with place in mind. So far these places include the Gothic coastal town of Whitby, the famous town of Bakewell, the outstanding historical city of York and the small yet mighty village of Eyam in Derbyshire.
We have created stories in these destinations, imagining our characters living their lives along the trails we have shaped around the natural beauty and environments we have chosen.
Many of our GeoStories last under an hour, which is a perfect amount of time for a brief and exciting adventure and perfect fo National Walking Month
