Digital Practice and Environmental Sustainability

We believe digital technology and environmental sustainability can complement and support each other.

Digital technology is a valuable tool for organisations to reduce their carbon footprint and practice sustainability.

Digital technology and environmental sustainability are often mutually reinforcing.

GeoStories will use digital to practice environmental sustainability across a range of activities.

GeoStories will use digital to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and so contribute to positive global change.

Our Sustainable practices help to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and work towards a net-zero future. Utilising the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals as a framework, GeoStories aims to contribute to positive global change.

Through Clean mobility – our transport strategies focus on zero emissions and cleaner fuel, we use cleaner vehicles and encourage walking and use of public transport wherever possible

Through encompassing a Circular economy – our economic model emphasises reuse and reducing waste. We track and monitor use of consumables and how much we reuse and recycle.

Responsible production and consumption in IT – we use energy-saving certified office equipment with multi-functions and low-power modes; adopt video conferencing to reduce travel; promote recycling and the proper disposal of electronics to reduce consumption and waste.

Accountability: Accountability is a key requirement of good environmental governance. As a company, we feel accountable to those who will be affected by our decisions and actions.

Examine and Rethink our services – their use and design By doing so, we will understand conflicting objectives and address these to become more sustainable and environmentally aware.

As we build capabilities, we will train staff to develop an awareness of the environmental implications of what they do to become owners of sustainability in the company and its practices.
